3 dead in Isabela after vehicle dives in irrigation canal

Ramon, Isabela – Three individuals died after their vehicle fell into an irrigation canal in Purok 5 Ambatali, Ramon, Isabela evening of Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

Ramon Police Station, through 92.9 Brigada News Cauayan City, narrated that a witness called the police to report about the tragic accident at around 11: 00 PM on the same date.

When the authorities arrived at the area, they found a black SUV submerged in the said irrigation canal. The victims were apparently trapped in the vehicle and drowned.

The police, together with some residents nearby, did a rescue and retrieval but all were already dead when they were taken out of the water.

Initial investigation said a witness saw the SUV speeding while traversing the curved area of the road. This could have caused the driver to lose control of the steering wheel which resulted in the vehicle crashing against the gutter along the road leading to its fall into the irrigation canal.

Authorities identified the casualties as Ruel Galut, the driver, Junior Budilla, 36, married, and Zyra Janine Galut, 13, a student. The victims were relatives and residents of Pinto, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.

Earlier this week, another vehicular accident transpired in Isabela involving a motorcycle and van killing two individuals.
