3 killed in motorcycle-truck collision in Isabela

San Mariano, Isabela – Three individuals were killed after a tricycle crashed into a pick-up truck along the national highway in Alibadbad, San Mariano Isabela on January 18.

The casualties onboard the tricycle were supposed to fetch a relative who came from Bulacan when they figured in the unfortunate accident.

Police, based on investigation, relayed that while on said road, the driver of the tricycle encroached the line of the pick-up vehicle which resulted in the crash.

Due to the impact, the driver - Joel Merlin, and his passengers- Jacqueline Merlin, 35, and Chona Monasquil, 35, sustained severe injuries that led to their death.

Joel died while he was being ferried in a hospital in Cauayan City while Jacqueline and Chona were declared dead on arrival at the San Mariano Medical Hospital.

Meantime, the truck driver identified as Elmer Telan, 43, a resident of Minanga, San Mariano, surrendered to police following the accident.
