3 killed, one injured in Tuguegarao City motorcycle crash

Tuguegarao, Cagayan – Three motorcycle riders were killed while one other was injured in a road crash in Tuguegarao City, police said.

The accident is one of Tuguegarao’s tragic road mishaps this year.

PNP Tuguegarao Spokesperson PLT Rosemarie Taguiam said the motor vehicle collision happened at around 7 PM on Saturday, July 23, along the National highway in Barangay Larion Alto.

Taguiam relayed through Bombo Radyo Tuguegarao that while the two motorcycle riders were traversing the national highway on opposite lanes, they suddenly made contact at the scene of impact.

The casualties were identified as Jinky Rein, 29, his back rider – Inocensio Rein, 61, and the driver of the other motorcycle – Severino Tumbali, 30.

Jinky and Inocensio were residents of Barangay Gosi Norte while Tumbali was from Barangay Dodan, Peñablanca.

Police report said Tumbali occupied the lane of the other rider which resulted in the collision.

A possibility that both drivers were driving at high speed was hinted by Taguiam as the impact of the contact on both motorcycles showed severe damages causing the death of three involved and injuring one.

The injured one is the back rider of Tumbali identified by police as Darrio Martinez, 21, a resident of Barangay Bacagan, Baggao.

It was known later that Tumbali and Martinez were intoxicated.
