Tabuk City, Kalinga - In an effort to assist farmers grappling with marketing challenges for their vegetable produce, the Department of Agriculture, through its Agribusiness and Marketing Division, remains committed to directly connecting them with buyers.

Under the KADIWA program, or "Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita," three metric tons of cabbages are scheduled for transportation to Tabuk City on Thursday, January 18.

The Office of the Provincial Agriculture-Kalinga notes a significant surplus of unsold cabbages at present, and this initiative aims to alleviate the current predicament faced by farmers.

Reports indicate that some farmers resort to dumping their cabbages due to a lack of buyers in trading centers, compounded by selling their produce at lower prices.

The cabbages to be delivered in the city will be available for purchase at P15 per kilogram at the Capitol grounds in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

For reservations and orders, individuals are encouraged to visit the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and APCO Kalinga or coordinate with Ms. Fevelyn Apil, as stated by OPAG-Kalinga.

This is not the first instance of linking Benguet farmers with buyers in Tabuk.

On January 9, 7.5 metric tons of cabbages were brought into the city, attracting a considerable number of buyers in collaboration with the Episcopal CARE (Community Action for Renewal and Empowerment) Foundation.
