Road crash involving 3 motorcycles in Ilagan, Isabela kills 2 riders

Isabela, Philippines - A three-motorcycle collision on Lullutan Bridge in Ilagan City, Isabela resulted in the death of two young riders Monday evening, June 12, 2023.

Authorities on Tuesday identified the fatalities as Israel Dioso, 19, student, and a resident of Barangay Sta. Isabel Sur, Ilagan; and Domingo Ruiz, 24, single, and a resident of Villa Imelda in the same city.

Ruiz was then heading towards the direction of Barangay Calamagui 1st on board his black Honda TMX. In front of him was Danilo Malenab, 27, single, from Barangay Lullutan who was riding a red Honda TMX, reported the local police.

On the opposite lane was Dioso on board a black Honda TMX, along with his backrider - Leegen Arias, 23, single, and a resident of Purok 4 Sindun Maride, Ilagan.

Upon arriving on the bridge, Ruiz allegedly tried to overtake Malenab, encroaching Dioso’s lane, causing the collision among the three motorcycles.

When rushed to the hospital, Dioso was declared dead on arrival due to the severe wounds he sustained from the impact of the crash.

Ruiz later died while undergoing treatment.

Malenab and Arias, meanwhile, were able to survive the incident.
