3 public servants in Cordillera cited as 'Dangal ng Bayan' awardees


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Three public servants in the Cordillera region are set to be conferred with outstanding citations at the Malacañang Palace on February 14, 2024.

 

The awardees are Eleonor Bugalin Ayan, a nutritionist-dietitian at the Department of Social Welfare and Development Cordillera; Bernardo Talla Cadaon Jr., a social welfare officer at the DSWD Cordillera; and Mary Hazel Brigola Ballena, a school principal in Abra.


These three will receive one of the prestigious citations bestowed upon public employees in the country, the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees, or Dangal ng Bayan Award.

 

The Dangal ng Bayan or DnB is among the awards under the Honor Awards Program of the Civil Service Commission, which aims to recognize outstanding contributions and exemplary behavior of civil servants.

 

Recipients of the DnB are those who have performed extraordinary acts of public service and consistently demonstrated exemplary ethical behavior in accordance with Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

 

After deliberation and approval by the Committee on Awards for Outstanding Public Officials, the three Cordillerans were chosen as among the 10 recipients of the DnB. They will be attending the awarding ceremony this coming February 14.
