30-yr-old man in Tabuk hacks fellow farmer at Christmas party





Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 30-year-old farmer was arrested on Christmas Day after hacking fellow farmer during their party around 3:00 p.m. in Sitio Pao, Barangay Nambucayan, Tabuk City.


The suspect was identified by the police as a certain Raphael Wailan.


According to Kalinga Police Information Officer PCapt. Ruff Manganip, the 33-year-old victim claimed that they were having a Christmas party at the house of his employer in Nambucayan this December 25 when Wailan arrived and suddenly attacked him.

The suspect was said to have been armed with a bolo when he came over and allegedly hacked the victim on the nape.


A concerned citizen was able to hold the suspect before he could go anywhere and turned him over to the responding personnel from Tabuk City Police Station. The victim, on the other hand, was rushed to the hospital.


An investigation by the police later revealed that the two had a heated argument on the first week of December this year. During then, their companions were able to pacify them. Little did they know that the misunderstanding did not stop there and a shocking incident would happen later.


Appropriate charges are now being prepared against the suspect who is currently in the custody of the Tabuk City Police Station.
