33-yr-old man stabbed to death by drinking buddy in Gonzaga, Cagayan

Gonzaga, Cagayan - A construction worker in Gonzaga, Cagayan died on Wednesday, July 17, after he was stabbed multiple times by one of his drinking buddies.

Gonzaga PNP identified the victim as alias “John”, 33, a resident of Barangay Centro, Gonzaga.

In the investigation conducted by the police, John had a drinking spree with his fellow construction crew in Barangay Batangan evening of that day.

While they were drinking, the 22-year-old son of his colleague came over and joined them. It is said that the man, hidden in the name “Jake”, was already intoxicated before joining the two in their drinking session.

Minutes later, John and Jake had an altercation until they punched each other. Their fight led Jake to stab John multiple times using a knife.

John sustained four stab wounds, particularly in his chest and neck which caused his death.

A hot pursuit operation is underway to arrest Jake after he fled from the crime scene. He will be charged with homicide.
