34-year-old architect from Aguinaldo, Ifugao is internationally awarded author

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – A 34-year-old registered Architect and fashion designer from Aguinaldo, Ifugao won four major awards in an international author’s summit that recently culminated.

Oscar Binay-o Jr. who authored “PROFESSIONAL PLASTIC: Trabaho Lang, Walang Personalan” bagged the Best Book Cover, 9th Ultimate Book of the Year, 2nd Book of the Year (Male Category – Inspirational Book), and is among the Top 10 Most Outstanding Author during the 2022 summit of John 14:14 Book Publishing Center.

The author was born in Mayoyao, Ifugao but is residing in Aguinaldo. He is working at the Second Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways - Ifugao. In the locality, he is known to be a mental health advocate.

Launched on November 06 this year, his book narrates the journey of a young professional who wants to be heard.

“In this book, I shared my personal story. I want to show my talents. For the record, it is not to brag or seek attention but for me to inspire other people. In telling also the real story is to let other people know why I act the way I act,” explained the author.

“In my experience, I want to inspire the youth. One day, if they are in the stage of seeking a job, they will realize that life should not be taken for granted. It is a guide in seeking real meaning in their lives,” he added.

Though some of the contents were made-up scenarios, he affirmed that such is synonymous with what he really experienced.

To help with the community, Binay-o donated 10% of his pre-order sales to Saint Benedict Chapel in Itab, Aguinaldo.

His success, he said, is dedicated to all who helped him with the book, including his Coach Jonas Dupo, Jerome Pablo – the photographer of his book cover, among others.
