34-yr.-old man in Baguio City charged with abusing and molesting three daughters

Updated: Oct 7

Baguio City, Philippines – Three girls in Baguio City were reportedly abused and molested, and the perpetrator was identified to be their own father.

The Baguio City Police Office reported they arrested a 34-year-old man in Lower Magsaysay Avenue recently. Said man was tagged as the 7th Top Most Wanted Person in Baguio City.

According to the authorities, the 34-year-old has been accused of child abuse including Lascivious Conduct under Republic Act 710 or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, and four cases of Statutory Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 366 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to RA 7610.

The complaints were filed after the victims’ mom found about the abuse through her youngest daughter who refused to go home because she was afraid of their dad. The two other daughters substantiated the claim, telling their mom about their traumatic experiences in the hands of the suspect.

This prompted the mother of the victims to appear before the police and report the 34-year-old suspect.

Through a warrant of arrest, the accused was apprehended by the authorities on September 21, 2024.

Baguio City Police Director, PCol. Francisco Bulwayan Jr., in a statement, stressed that the police do not tolerate any form of abuse and exploitation saying, "the safety and well-being of our children are paramount, and we will not tolerate any form of abuse or exploitation. This arrest highlights our unwavering commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society."

The Baguio City Social Welfare and Development Office was already tapped to provide necessary support and services to the victims.
