Dolores, Abra - There is a saying that alcohol should settle in the stomach, not in the head, to avoid trouble during drinking sessions.

For two drinking buddies in Dolores, Abra, the effects of the alcohol they consumed led to a heated altercation, ultimately resulting in a shooting incident.

According to a report from local media, the Dolores Municipal Police Station received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a man shot several times during a wake in Multawi, Pacac, Dolores, at around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2.

When the police responded, they found an injured victim identified as Dave Guzman Millare, 34, a resident of Barangay Lingtan, Bangued. The suspect was identified as Alex Ola, 46.

Based on the investigation of said police station, the two were drinking at the wake when they suddenly got into an argument for an unknown reason.

The altercation escalated, leading Ola to shoot Millare multiple times. It was not stated in the report what kind of firearm was used in the crime.

As a result of the attack, Millare sustained three gunshot wounds to various parts of his body. He was rushed to a hospital nearby by the responding authorities, where he is currently recuperating.

Meanwhile, Ola is now in police custody, awaiting charges to be filed against him by the victim’s family.
