346 benefit from province-wide serbisyo caravan in Pantikian, Balbalan


Balbalan, Kalinga – The Serbisyo Caravan of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) delivered the services of the government to Pantikian, Balbalan on Tuesday, November 21, to foster peace and development.

In previous months, the task force has been holding simultaneous community consultation and outreach mission to identified ELCAC barangays in town – Balantoy, Ab-abaan and Dao-angan, in its support to the whole-of-nation approach to end communism and institute peace-building.


On November 21, Governor James Edduba who chairs the provincial task force was joined by the local government of Balbalan under the leadership of Mayor Almar Malannag, in bringing the same services to the people of Pantikian village.


Uniting with the government’s campaign, representatives of various agencies were likewise present in said event, including those from DILG, DSWD, TESDA, DENR, DepEd, PDRRMC, Kalinga PPO, 1st and 2nd PMFC, PNP-Special Action Force, BJMP, Balbalan MPS, Tanudan MPS, BJMP, BFP-Balbalan, 103rd Infantry Battalion, and Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Also joining the move were medical practitioners from the Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Juan M Duyan Memorial District Hospital (JMDMDH), Western Kalinga District Hospital, Rural Health Unit - Balbalan, among other teams.


Alongside the mission, Edduba handed over a wheelchair as assistance to Marites Borreta who is suffering from motor and neurological deficit secondary to damaged ventral tegmental area. In addition, the beneficiary received P7,000 cash aid from the governor himself, Mayor Malannag and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office under the Governor’s Office.

A total of 346 residents in said village availed of free medical consultations and check-up, free circumcision, free dental check-up and tooth extraction, free fluoridization, and free haircut.


The task force likewise gave the residents the opportunity to let their voice be heard as they raised developmental concerns that need to be addressed during the presentation and review of the Barangay Development Plan.
