Updated: Aug 24

Ifugao, Philippines – A couple in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao was already sleeping on Monday night, August 19, when tragedy knocked on their door.

It was past 11:00 p.m. when the couple was roughly pulled out of their sleep by the man’s 51-year-old brother-in-law who was then shouting outside the couple’s house in Barangay Dolowog.

The wife recounted to the police that she opened the door as the 51-year-old was pounding on it while calling for his 39-year-old husband’s name.

The husband identified by the police as Criston Dawadao Mongao confronted the older man, resulting in a heated argument. A fistfight between the two ensued.

Though he was rushed by their neighbors at the Potia District Hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
