4,350 children in Kalinga PhilSys registered as of August; Parents reminded to register kids

Tabuk City, Kalinga - Over 4,000 children ages 1 to 4 years old in Kalinga are now registered to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) since the Philippine Statistics Authority—Kalinga started its “Rehistro Bulilit” campaign earlier this year.

The necessity of having children registered is obvious in societies where identification is a pre-requisite of assistance, aid, and other government services. The recent data, according to PSA, show there is still a need to encourage parents to register their kids.

In an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, PSA-Kalinga PhylSys Focal Person Santiago B. Lucob said there are a total of 4,350 kids in the province who are now registered to PhilSys as of August since they opened the Rehistro Bulilit in February.

The rollout of the said campaign is part of the continued efforts of the PSA to register more Filipino children to PhilSys, not just to issue them a valid ID but also to provide them easier access to various government programs and a smoother enrollment process and civil registration, among others.

With said benefits, Lucob encourages parents/guardians in Kalinga to register their kids to PhilSys, saying, “Encourage mi dagitoy parents nga i-register da koma dagitoy ubing da ta daytoy National ID ket talaga nga masapol da met lang dagitoy nu dumakkel da.

How do you register your kids for PhilSys?

The requirements needed for PhilSys registration for 1 to 4-year-old children are only  their PSA/LCR Birth Certificate issued by the PSA and the presence of the parent/guardian who must be PhilSys registered also.
