4 Tinglayan organizations granted P1.6M livelihood assistance


Tinglayan, Kalinga – Four organizations in Tinglayan received on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, a total of P1,650,000 livelihood assistance from the municipal local government unit through the leadership of Mayor Atty. Sacrament Gumilab.


The local government, in a press release, explained that the grant is under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and was made possible through the initiative of Gumilab.

Having realized the importance of said assistance by the organizations, the mayor requested for funding from the Office of the President through Senator Bong Go.


The four recipient organizations are the Mamapacod Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA), Puong Farmers Association, Umunnoy Ad Man-Afer SLPA, and Luplupa Ugpun Nan Manfofoser.


The first three received P450,000 each, while the latter got P300,000.

According to the SWAD Team leader, Provincial Coordinator Macfarlyne Bumosao, the amount given to the organization depended on the project proposal that was submitted.


Gumilab hopes that the assistance would help the organizations flourish as the local government strive for economic recovery.


“May this assistance help your organizations be successful. I hope that in a year, we will be able to see your organizations and your businesses flourishing… I hope that all organizations function and support one another then together we can support the economy of the whole Tinglayan District,” stated the mayor.

The awarding program was graced by representatives of the Office of the President and Office of Senator Bong Go, Mayor Gumilab, Councilor Bartholome Aboli, and DSWD personnel.


In November 2021, around P2.9 million livelihood grant was awarded to eight organizations in the municipality.
