4 yKalinga cadets top PMMA 2023 Class

Tabuk City, Kalinga – After four years of perseverance, diligence, and dedication, four yKalinga cadets recently harvested the fruit of their hard work as they topped their respective classes at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA).


The four midshipmen are part of the PMMA ‘MADASIKLAN’ Class of 2023 who graduated on July 20 in San Narciso, Zambales.

Among the 127 graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering, Midshipman 1CL Japeth Romi Anga-angan ranked 5th and Midshipman 1CL Kevin Fiesta placed 10th and received the Iron Man Award.


As for Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, Midshipman 1CL Sean Jedidiah Sapla got the second-highest average among the 97 cadets who took the program while Midshipman 1CL Jazvender Vallejo ranked 4th. Vallejo was also conferred the Philippine Coast Guard(PCG) Saber award.

Joining these four yKalinga who graduated with flying colors from Cordillera is Midshipman 1CL Ayzzer Trygvie Juan of Ifugao who ranked 8th among the BS in Marine Transportation cadets.


The 200th PMMA Commencement exercises was graced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
