40-yr-old man fell off boat along Cagayan River, found dead 2 days later

Amulung, Cagayan – A 40-year-old man died tragically after he drowned along the Cagayan River on Friday, August 30, when he accidentally fell off the boat he was on along with his relatives.

The deceased, identified as Edmar Balisi, was a resident of Barangay Andarayan, Solana, Cagayan.

According to the report from the Task Force Lingkod Cagayan-Quick Response Team, Balisi went boating with his relatives along the Cagayan River in Barangay Cataggamman that day.

While they were boating, Balisi accidentally fell off the boat.

His relatives reported to the police what happened, further informing them that the victim did not know how to swim. They said that they also tried to save him, but they failed to do so.

Notified of the incident, the rescuers proceeded to the location to find Balisi.

After two days, the search and rescue operation found the lifeless body of the victim near the river bank on the morning of September 1. His remains were brought to their residence for his wake.
