44.98% of Kalinga Covid 19 health facilities occupied


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMF), hospitals, and infirmaries in the province are still considered under safe zone status as of March 23, considering that out of the 249 total bed capacity, about 112 or 44.98% are occupied.


According to the Provincial Information Office, there are six TTMFs, five hospitals, and six infirmaries accommodating Covid-19 suspects, probable, close contact, and confirmed cases in the province.

However, from the four TTMF, there are two that reached the danger zone category. These are Tabuk City TTMF with 78% occupancy rate and the Kalinga Provincial Hospital TTMF with 73.68%.


As for infirmaries, Western Kalinga District Hospital is under critical zone having all of its four-bed capacity infirmary occupied.

Covid-19 Situation Update


For the Kalinga Covid-19 case summary as of March 22, a total of 2,589 confirmed cases were recorded. 2,330 of these have recovered, while the other 234 are active cases.


Additionally, from March 1 to 22, an average of 16 confirmed Covid-19 cases are recorded every day with 32 as the average number of recoveries.

Further, there is an average of 2 Covid-19 related death in a month from June 10, 2020 to March 15, 2021.


Meantime, Kalinga is under General Community Quarantine having a medium epidemic risk level.

On vaccination


Provincial Health Officer Dr. Edward Tandingan, on March 23, said that a total of 1,731 frontline health workers in the province were already vaccinated, whereas, 861 of them were inoculated with CoronaVac and 870 with AstraZeneca.


Meanwhile, all the second and third generation contacts of the 2 individuals who tested positive with UK variant have tested negative of the virus.
