44-yr.-old man in Gattaran, Cagayan was just going for a bike ride, got struck by a van

Gattaran, Cagayan – In a heartbreaking turn of events on Sunday afternoon, March 17, another life was lost after a 44-year-old farmer was struck by a passenger van along the national road in Lapogan, Gattaran.

The fatal collision occurred when Elmer Miguel, riding his bicycle, encountered a passenger van on his way, driven by businessman Wilbert Lui, 34, a resident of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The farmer, who is a resident of Gattaran, sustained severe injuries from the incident.

Despite immediate efforts, Miguel was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby private hospital in Centro Sur, Gattaran, as confirmed by the latest update from the Gattaran Police Station.

Following the accident, authorities swiftly apprehended Wilbert Lui, escorting him to the Gattaran Police Station for further investigation.

Pending any potential settlements, Lui faces possible charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
