45-yr.-old man from Kalinga drowns in Lingayen, Pangasinan beach

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Among the victims of drowning this Christmas season is a 45-year-old man from Bangad, Tinglayan.

 

As of this writing, five individuals from Cordillera were reportedly drowned in La Union while one was in Lingayen, Pangasinan from December 25 – 27, 2023.

 

The one who was found lifeless on a beach in Pangasinan was identified as Jerry Ayyato from Bangad, Tinglayan, but he was residing in Itogon, Benguet.

 

The victim reportedly travelled to Lingayen, Pangasinan for a family getaway on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, this supposed happy occasion ended in a tragedy after Ayyato drowned while swimming on the beach.

 

His body was found in the waters in Alaminos on December 28, three days after the incident.

 

The victim’s family, through a Facebook post, thanked the search and rescue teams from different agencies as well as their kin and people from Kalinga who helped locate and retrieve Ayyato’s body.

 

“…ti Diyos ti mangsubalit ti amin nga tulong ken kina imbagyo kadakami nga pamilya,” the victim’s brother wrote.
