48-yr.-old man dies in crash ahead of Valentine's Day

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan - While other people may celebrate Valentine’s Day happily, the situation differs for a grieving family in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, after their loved one died in a self-inflicted road crash.

The deceased was identified as Moses Antonio, a government employee and resident of Barangay Centro 4, Tuguegarao City.

According to police reports, Antonio was riding a scooter on the evening of Tuesday, February 13, 2024, when the incident transpired.

He was traversing the national highway in Barangay Caggay when he reached the curved section of the road, particularly in front of an eating establishment, and allegedly lost control of the motorcycle.

This resulted in the vehicle crashing into a Gmelina tree. Antonio sustained severe injuries to various parts of his body due to the incident.

Responding authorities rushed him to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
