49-yr.-old man stabbed to death in Cagayan

Peñablanca, Cagayan – Peñablanca police found a dead 49-year-old man with stab wounds in a cornfield on December 23, 2022.

Police said they responded to a call saying a body of a man was found by locals lying in a cornfield in Barangay Baliuag.

It was first discovered by a man who was just there to graze his carabao.

The victim has two stab wounds on his head while another wound is evident in his face making the police conclude that he might have been stabbed with a sharp object resulting in his quick death.

He was identified as Edwin Binarao, a resident of said area.

In their interview with the locals, police found out that the victim attended a wedding night before he was found dead.

A neighbor of the victim confessed the latter even dance with her around midnight during the said wedding. After the dance, the victim requested another dance from the management which the latter heeded to.

However, 30 minutes after his request was played, he was then nowhere to be found at the event’s venue.

Meantime, another local confessed he passed through the crime scene while he was rushing a patient to the hospital and saw three individuals there but did not pay attention to what they were up to.

An investigation is still ongoing.
