5-9 PM most accident-prone hours in Kalinga from October to December 2021


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Road accidents in Kalinga from October to December 10 this year were found to have happened mostly between 5:00 in the afternoon to 9:00 in the evening. This is according to the Kalinga Police Provincial Office crime clock on vehicular traffic incidents.


During the fourth quarter meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council this December 14, it was presented that there is a total of 26 road accidents documented in the 4th quarter of 2021.


The number of road accidents from October to December 10 this year is lower by 16.13% as compared to the 31 incidents recorded for the same period in 2020.


Meantime, of the 26 incidents, most of them happened between 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.


Based on the report, there were 4 incidents documented which transpired from 8:00 to 9:00 in the evening. Also, 3 cases each happened at 5:00 – 6:00 PM and 7:00-8:00 PM.

Additionally, at 8:00–9:00 AM, 11:00 AM-12:00 NN, and 4:00 PM-5:00 PM, there were two road accidents that happened for each period.


Meanwhile, KPPO also noted that the causes of the 26 road accidents that transpired this fourth quarter are human error, mechanical defects, and ongoing road construction.


Of these causes, human error is the majority cause with 21 cases, while for mechanical defects, there are 4 and for the ongoing road construction, there is one incident.
