5 men beat construction worker with steel pipes in Baguio City; charges to be filed

Baguio City, Philippines - A construction worker in Baguio City filed charges on Friday, November 8, against five men who beat him for unknown reasons.

 

The victim, Irish John Peralta Flores, an adult, recounted to police that he was about to go home when the incident transpired on October 27, 2024.

 

While he was walking in Lower Rock Quarry, Baguio City, one of the suspects hit him in the head with a helmet, and after that, all of them punched him multiple times.

 

After some minutes, three men who passed the place saw the crime, prompting the suspects to run and hide.

 

Flores, meanwhile, seized that opportunity to escape. Unfortunately, when the passersby left, the suspects came back and chased him.

 

When the suspects caught up with him, they beat him again with steel pipes, then they fled from the crime scene.

 

Flores suffered serious injuries due to the attack. He was rushed by the responding policemen to a hospital in the city, fortunately, he survived the incident and is now in stable condition.

 

At present, the authorities are now conducting investigations to determine the motive behind the crime.

 

The suspects, who were later arrested by the police, were positively identified by the victim. Their identities were hidden under the names "Mokong," "Baktad," "Odi", "Dodo"and "Toti.".
