500 kgs. of cabbages planted near a road in Kibungan, Benguet stolen by thieves

Kibungan, Benguet - Three farmers in Benguet were left dismayed after their cabbages were harvested and taken away by still unidentified individuals.

The theft happened on Saturday, November 2, in Sitio Madaymen, Kibungan, Benguet.

One of the victims, alias“ Glen”, relayed in his interview with the media that about 500 kilograms of their cabbages amounting to P31,000 were taken from their plantation near the road.

Glen believes that the thieves used a motorcycle or a 4-wheel vehicle when they committed the crime, possibly on the evening of said day.

He added that he planned to harvest his cabbages next week but was upset after he discovered that his crops were already reaped by others.

With the incident, Glen is encouraging his fellow farmers to always visit their farms to avoid their crops being stolen.

Authorities, meanwhile, are now conducting investigations to establish the identity of the suspects.

It can be recalled that last year, October 15, 2023, another farmer in the province also lost 200 kilograms of potatoes after they were unearthed by unidentified individuals from his farm at Sitio Cotcot, Buguias.
