503rd Infantry Brigade CMO expressed support to the Cordillera’s Bodong system

Lubuagan, Kalinga – The 503rd Infantry Brigade conveyed support to the Bodong system being practiced by the Cordillerans, stating that this is a manifestation of the people’s desire to sustain peaceful and orderly communities, paving the way for development.

During the warming of the 6-decade peace pact between Peñarrubia, Abra and Lubuagan on April 23 and 24, Captain Rogelio Agustin Jr., the Civil Military Officer of 503rd Brigade, expressed that the Philippine Army appreciates the forging and warming of peace pacts between tribes in the region as it shows communities’ efforts to maintain peace and order.

“Ma-appreciate mi unay dagiti panangpatalged yu iti kaugalian yu nga isu iti mangipakita iti umnu ken pudpudno nga identity iti taga Cordillera, a manipud idi, inggana ita ket isu iti idaldala tayo. Isu ti taltalyawen tayo tapnu iti kasta, isu ti instrumento a mangtengngel iti linak ken kapya iti komunidad tayo,” Agustin conveys.


The Civil Military Officer underscored that when there is peace and order in communities, there will be progress.


“Nasayaat ken napintas la unay iti daytoy nga aramid ta ipakpakita na a nu adda iti linak, kapya ken talna ipakita na dita nga adda met iti peace and development,” he said.

Agustin then encourages the next generations who will be the next holders of the Bodong to always give importance to the peace pact their ancestors forged with other tribes.


“Dayta iyawat da a responsibilidad da ket ikkan koma iti importansya. Laglagipen da kuma dagiti nagrigrigatan dagiti ama da tapno iti kasta ket haan a mapukaw dayta napintas la unay nga kaugali-an iti maysa nga tao,” he expressed.


Agustin concluded his message by assuring support of the 503rd Infantry Brigade to the Bodong between the Peñarrubia, Abra and Lubuagan, Kalinga.
