53 Abra farmers benefit from NFA’s Mobile Palay Procurement

Abra, Philippines – Through their Mobile Palay Procurement scheme, the National Food Authority (NFA) was able to purchase a total of 2,043 cavans of rice from 53 farmer-beneficiaries in this province.


The provincial government of Abra (PGA) on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, reports that farmers from the municipalities of Lagangilang, San Isidro, and Manabo were able to sell their rice for P 19.00 per kilogram.



Said activity started this month with the aim to help farmers sell especially during this time of pandemic where movement is restricted.


“Daytoy ket nairusuat gapu iti panangidawat ti Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council ti Abra tapno saanen a gumasto nga agplete dagiti mannalon nga adda iti nasulinek nga ili tapno ilako ti irikda,” reports the PGA.

“Dagiti met Municipal Agriculture Officers ti mangi-coordinate iti NFA nu adda dagiti mayat nga aglako ti irik iti munisipioda,” they added.


Meantime, the provincial government informed that NFA is also selling rice to local government units intended for relief operations during calamities, which is sold for P1, 250 per bag (50kg).
