53 Cordilleran entrepreneurs graduate from DTI’s 2022 KMME-MME program batch 2

Tabuk City, Kalinga - Fifty-three Cordilleran entrepreneurs graduated from the ‘Kapatid Mentor Me Money Market Encounter’ 2022 batch 2 (KMME-MME) online programs of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Wednesday afternoon, September 7.


The KMME-MME is a module mentorship program of DTI, implemented in 2016. The program optimizes weekly online interactions between the mentors and the mentees at the same time integrating the Mentorship, Money, and Market in the program to help the participants improve their businesses and become competitive entrepreneurs.

The graduates are from various provinces in the region - 8 from Abra, 6 from Apayao, 8 from Baguio, 8 from Benguet, 7 from Ifugao, 9 from Kalinga, and 7 from Mt. Province.


The entrepreneurs, also called mentees, finished their 10-module mentorship program through coaching sessions on April 5 and concluded on August 11 this year. They likewise successfully presented their business improvement plans (BIP) to the panelists.


Certificates of Recognition were initially announced during the Regional Virtual Graduation on the said day and were officially handed to the mentees at their respective venues.


Awards and recognitions


Of the 53 batches, 2 mentees from Cordillera, Iloisa Diga of Session Groceries in Benguet got the 1st place for the best BIP award with a perfect score of 50 over 50.


Satur Cadsi, owner of Gift of Grace Food Manufacturing in Benguet and Charmaine Lea Kaye Martes owner of Maney Hill Camp in Abra tied for the 2nd place, while Mary Grace Perez from Baguio got the 3rd place.

The four mentees recognized as the ones with the best BIP received their certificates and a plaque of recognition as well as a livelihood kit chosen by them.


For special awards, Shining Star Award was obtained by Cemin Venus from Abra, Jozen Rea Vidad from Apayao, Mary Grace Perez from Baguio, Roxanne Masaway from Benguet, Darell Ralph Cudangon from Ifugao, Janine Garaldino Cinco from Kalinga, and Kyleigh Tuesday Angway from Mt. Province.


Moreover, Dean Aldwin Matute from Abra, Frederick Balbal from Apayao, Jirahlaine Solang from Baguio, Grail Labutan from Benguet, Rhana Jane Hawihao from Ifugao, Relaida Bali from Kalinga and April May Pagadian from Mt. Province were conferred the Most Challenged Mentee Awards.


Erickson Vidad from Apayao got the Customer is Always Right award, Jaymar Paragas from Kalinga and Irish Mae Lorena from Mt. Province were recognized as the Most Innovative, while the Most Active Award was given to Satur Cadsi, Grail Labutan, and Beverly Han from Benguet.

For other awards, April Mae Pagadian from Mt. Province got the Good Samaritan award, Iloisa Diga from Benguet got the Lumen award and Myla Toma-ag from Mt. Province got the Idol award.


Meantime, Team Kalinga was conferred the Ice Ice Baby award and Team Abra provided the Best Presentation.


As recalled, the KMME-MME batch 1 composed of 49 mentees from different provinces of the region has also graduated and received their awards and recognition.
