Dead man found floating in Malidong River, Abra

Pidigan, Abra – A cadaver was found floating along the Malidong River in Pidigan, Abra earlier today, June 27.

Pidigan police rushed to the scene after receiving a notification and while there, they saw the cadaver which was already in the early stage of decomposition.

Authorities sought the assistance of the public to help them unravel the identity of the victim through social media which may have helped hastened its identification.

In a photo forwarded by the Pidigan Police, it can be seen that the dead body was naked. A tattoo, meantime, is visible on his chest.

The body was identified as Gregorio Pugal, 53, a resident of Sao-atan, Bangued.

Police said the victim went swimming in the river but drowned, resulting in his death.

The body is now in a funeral home in Abra.
