54-yr-old man in Baguio beaten to death by teenagers

Baguio City, Philippines – A middle-aged man, who had no permanent home and was reportedly sleeping by the roadside, was beaten to death by two teenagers in Baguio City on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

According to the report from the Baguio City Police Office Station 2 obtained by a local media, the discovery of the victim’s body was through a report they received from a concerned citizen, a woman.

The woman narrated to the police that they were travelling the road in Purok 4, Pinsao Proper, Baguio City, when two young men approached them and asked them to rush the victim to the hospital. 

At that time, the woman had no idea that those individuals were also the ones responsible for what had happened to the victim. 

The woman added they no longer transported the victim to the hospital since the members of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS), whom she also informed about the situation, arrived at their location immediately. 

Sadly, the rescue team declared that the man, hidden under the name “Robin”, was already dead when they arrived at the scene. 

Meanwhile, police investigations revealed that the two teenagers who stopped the taxi of the woman and who attempted to rush Robin to the hospital were also the perpetrators behind victim’s death. 

Based on the CCTV footage, the two, aged 15 and 19, beat Robin while he was sleeping along the Long-long Baguio-Benguet road for unknown reasons.

 The attack occurred around 4:00 a.m. on January 22. Further investigations disclosed that the suspects were out-of-school youths.

The suspects were already arrested by the police. The 15-year-old will be turned over to the Bahay Pag-asa, a child-caring and rehabilitation institution in the Philippines, while the 18-year-old will face possible charges.
