32-yr.-old son beats father to death in Abra

San Isidro, Abra – A 32-year-old man is now in the custody of police after he was suspected of beating his 59-year-old father which resulted in the latter’s death.

The beating incident transpired evening of December 23 in Sitio Kimmalasag, Barangay Tangbao, San Isidro Abra, of which, the son was allegedly drunk when he beat the victim.

In an interview with the victim’s wife by Abra TV, she said her husband was still alive before they slept that night and she only discovered that he was lifeless at 3 AM on December 24.

The incident was only reported to police by a concerned citizen at 8:30 AM and to verify the report, San Isidro police went there and saw the dead victim and was lying on his bed.

A witness revealed the victim - Valentino Billaoac was beaten by his son – Jonathan Bilaoac which might have resulted in the victim’s death.

Police further said the suspect did the crime due to alcohol intoxication.

The younger Billaoac is set to face charges of parricide if a case against him is pursued.
