Cordillera provinces receive new ambulance from PCSO

Luna, Apayao – Efficient delivery of health care services and emergency response in Cordillera region got an added boost after the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over ambulance units to its six provinces.

Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province received each a brand-new Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) during the Cordillera Month Celebration program in Luna, Apayao on Saturday, July 15.

Inside the vehicles are collapsible bed, foldable wheelchair, and other equipment.

In his speech during the program, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles mentioned that this is the first time the agency allocated such vehicles in the region under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

He then emphasized that that the agency’s job is not only to ‘make millionaires’ but also to help people in needs.

“More than the chance to win, our job is not only to make millionaires but to help, kami lang po, we are the only government agency that is mandated to do charity, to help” he conveyed.

Meanwhile, President Marcos, who is supposed to be the guest of honor of the program, was unable to attend due to the inclement weather.

Along with the turn-over ceremony, cultural presentations, beating of the Gong and remarks from provincial governors and other guests, also took place during the event.
