62 sacks of dried corn stolen by unknown thieves in Isabela

Updated: Mar 4

Ilagan, Isabela - A farmer in Isabela was left dismayed after his corn harvest, which he intended to sell to pay off his debt, was stolen by yet-to-be-known individuals.

The victim was identified as Bong Zipagan, a resident of Ilagan City, Isabela.

In his interview with local media, Zipagan recounted that on February 24, 2024, he had dried his corn. Since it was too late to sell them that day, he planned to do so the next day. However, upon returning, he discovered that the 62 sacks of corn were missing.

According to him, the stolen corn was valued at P60,000.

He promptly reported the matter to the Ilagan police, who immediately launched an investigation to identify the thieves.

The victim revealed to the police that the money he expected to earn from the stolen corn would have helped him pay off his debt and purchase new seeds.

Currently, investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to expedite the identification of the suspects.
