69-year-old grandma killed, 2 injured in Allacapan, Cagayan Road collision

Allacapan, Cagayan – A 69-year-old grandmother died while two others were injured in a road collision along the national highway of Barangay Centro East Allacapan, Cagayan, on November 2, 2022.

PNP Allacapan disclosed that an SYM Bonus motorcycle and a Toyota Fortuner were moving in the southbound direction of the said national road when the tragic accident happened.

In the investigation, the driver of the motorcycle was said to have made a sudden right turn without flashing a signal. This resulted in the Toyota Fortuner with plate number BAE-294 hitting the motorcycle.

With the strong impact, the victims riding the motorcycle were thrown to the ground, claiming the life of a 69-year-old grandmother.

Police identified the casualty as Rosita Ugale, 69, a resident of Barangay Dagupan, Allacapan.

Individuals injured in the crash were Reynalyn Ugale, 25, pregnant, and Remy Villegas, 26. Both are residents of Dagupan, Allacapan.

The injured were taken to the Rural Health Unit of Allacapan for immediate treatment and later transferred to Cagayan Valley Medical Center.

PCAPT. Joel Labasan, Officer-In-Charge of the police station, said that the driver of the Toyota Fortuner was Alberto Bassig, 20, single, a resident of Barangay Buntun, Tuguegarao City.

He may be charged with Reckless Imprudence resulting in Homicide and Physical Injuries.
