7 kids injured after LPG explodes inside home in Baguio City

Baguio City, Philippines – Eight individuals were injured, seven of them under 13, after a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank exploded in Gabriela Silang, Baguio City recently.

 

Police identified the victims of the explosion as Jelly Sanchez Iglesia, 36, Joshuein Ymaorille Iglesia, 10, Ceylon Zint Iglesia, 4, Lillian Winter Iglesia, 2, Xemiah Caitlee Edralin, 5, John Mark Iglesia, 12, John Michael Iglesia, 12, and Kyle Iglesia, 7.

 

Initial report from the Baguio City Police Office obtained by a local media disclosed that Jelly, one of the victims, was heating water when the LPG tank exploded.


As a result of the incident, four of the victims sustained minor injuries, while four others were severely injured. They are currently confined at a hospital in the city.

 

Further investigation is now being conducted by authorities to determine the cause of the blast.

 

It can be recalled that similar incident particularly in Purok 25, San Carlos Heights, transpired on May 8, 2024.

 

The victim was a 21-year-old pregnant woman who suffered second degree burn on various parts of her body, while her unborn baby died inside her womb.
