7 men engaged in fistfight during town festival in Rizal, Kalinga

Rizal, Kalinga – Police authorities in Rizal appeal to the public particularly to the young ones not to provoke others and be calm amidst disagreements to avoid injuries and damage to properties.

 

This appeal came after two groups of young individuals ages 17 – 30 years old got into fistfights at the Municipal Hall Compound in Liwan West on Thursday evening, March 26, during one of the town festival’s activities.

 

In an interview with GURU Press Cordillera, Rizal Police Chief Investigator, PEMS Johnny Dangiw said they responded to the brawl and found out the commotion started when the other group allegedly stoned the car of the latter. 

 

He added that no one was seriously injured among the seven people involved in the fistfight. The case, the chief investigator, further relayed was referred to the barangay.

 

“Since dagita ket mga minor offenses, haan tayo met mabalin nga i-bypass iti barangay ta adda met iti barangay pangkatarungan, isu nga in-refer mi idiay barangay,” he said.

 

With the incident, Dangiw asked the public especially the youth not to provoke their fellow as well as not to let their temperament take over when there are misunderstandings.

 

“Advice natin lalong lalo na sa mga kabataan, hindi lahat kailangan daanin sa init ng ulo… para hindi makasakit ng kapwa at maka-damage ng property,” he expressed.
