7-year-old boy in Benguet drowns while swimming in Adonot River

Bokod, Benguet – A 7-year-old boy drowned while having a swim in the Adonot River in Bokod, Benguet in the morning of June 14, 2022.


The incident happened when the boy left his father who was working on a backhoe and headed to the river nearby.


Police report said that the father didn’t notice the child going to Adonot River where the tragedy happened.


The father only noticed that his child was missing 3o minutes after he last saw him. As he moved around looking, he found the boy was in the river drowning.


The father immediately rushed to his aid and brought him to Dennis Molintas District Hospital, but the boy was declared dead on arrival.


The victim, Jefferson Victor, is a grade one pupil and resident of said place.


In another drowning incident in Kalinga, the boy who drowned in the Saltan River, Pinukpuk was already laid to rest by his family Wednesday, June 15, 2022.


The victim was only found six days after a search and retrieval operation.
