Robber injures 70-year-old widow in Rizal Kalinga

Rizal, Kalinga – A 70-year-old widow was hurt and robbed at gunpoint at her residence in Barangay Liwan West early morning of April 16, 2022.


The suspect was identified as a certain Kent Dalpis, 28, jobless, and a resident of Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City.


According to Rizal Police Station, the victim was awakened at around 4:40 in the morning by their dog who was incessantly barking.

She immediately went outside to check what was going on and she saw a man about to leave taking their chainsaw.


The victim confronted the suspect and the latter allegedly told her that the chainsaw was his and that he is taking it home.


The elderly woman then tried to take back the chainsaw but claimed that the suspect instead shoved, kicked, and pushed her to the floor.

Moreover, the suspect allegedly pointed his handgun at her and forcibly took her cellphone, and then left.


The senior citizen’s grandson who witnessed the incident fainted and was rushed to Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital by the responding police.

During a hot pursuit operation, Rizal police nabbed a man fixing his motorcycle on the national road in Sitio Alibangbang, Liwan West that matched the description of the suspect as related by the victims.


The man was arrested after the picture of the victim was seen on the screen of the cellphone he was holding. He was later positively identified by the victim at the police station.

A case for Robbery with Violence or Intimidation of Persons was filed against the suspect.
