72-yr.-old fell in Baay River, Abra due to intoxication, found dead 3 days later

Bangued, Abra - A 72-year-old man was found dead on Saturday, September 7, at the Baay River in Abra after he was reported having fallen into the water last Tuesday, September 3, allegedly due to intoxication.

The old man was identified by the police as Raymund Sales.

Based on the victim’s family narrative, Sales had a drink at their house first before he was seen heading to the river that day.

Sales failed to return home later that day, prompting his family to look for him. After three days, a resident in the area found his body clinging to a fish fence in the middle of the river on September 7.

The victim’s family believed that he accidentally fell and drowned in the river and no longer requested for an autopsy.

Police ruled out foul play in the incident.  The body is now at their residence for his wake.
