77-yr.-old man found dead in a rice field in Santiago, Isabela

Santiago City, Isabela - A 77-year-old farmer who just went to his rice field on Monday, September 23, was found dead.

The deceased, whose identity was withheld by the police, was a resident of Barangay Ambalatungan, Santiago City, Isabela.

According to police report, the victim's body was discovered by his fellow farmer. The man narrated that he was walking around his rice paddy when he saw the lifeless body of the victim lying in the middle of the field.

He then immediately informed the authorities of what he saw.

Police, in response, proceeded to the location and conducted an investigation. Their findings revealed that the victim had high blood pressure, which may have caused his death.

Since the victim’s family believed that the old man died from a hypertension attack, police ruled out foul play in the incident.

With this case, Santiago PNP reminded the public to keep an eye on their relatives suffering from same sickness to avoid such incident from happening again.
