Tabuk City, Kalinga - A total of eighty-five farmers in the province of Kalinga finally received their long-awaited Electronic Land Tiles (E-titles) from the Department of Agrarian Reform following the region-wide distribution of the titles to beneficiaries in Cordillera at the Kalinga Sport Center in Bulanao, Tabuk City, on Friday, December 6, 2024.

With a total area of 28.0992 hectares, the E-titles granted to the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries in Kalinga assured them ownership of the lands they have long cultivated.

Under the Republic Act No. 6657, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law of 1988, the recipients include the 'landless' farmers and regular farm workers in the province.

With the E-titles they acquired, these iKalinga farmers can now focus on developing their lands without the fear of disputes or insecurity, paving the way for them to increase their agricultural productivity.

During the event, Governor James Edduba, addressing the recipients through Provincial Administrator Teddy Gullay, reminded them to use their newly acquired lands responsibly. He described the given titles as ‘not just a document but also a symbol of empowerment, signifying a strong partnership between the government and its people.”

Vice Governor Jocel  Baac, Meantime, said that the E-titles are more than pieces of paper but likewise symbols of justice, dignity, and empowerment, and  the culmination of hard work and sacrifices of  farmers.

The distribution of the land titles is part of the ongoing efforts of the National Government under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.  in uplifting the lives of farmers across the country and driving rural development.
