About 1,650 farmers in CAR to receive E-Land Titles, CLOAs on Nov. 21

Tabuk City, Kalinga -  Over one thousand farmers in the Cordillera region are set to be granted with Electronic Certificates of Land Titles (E-Titles) and Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) by the Department of Agrarian Reform on November 21, 2024.

The distribution of titles will assure farmers of ownership of their land, encouraging them to work harder in cultivating and developing them.

This program, under President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. directive, aims to upgrade the living condition in different rural areas, agricultural productivity and even local economic levels in regions through the official grant of titles for farmers across the country.

The region- wide distribution will take place in Kalinga, particularly at the Kalinga Sports Center, on said date.

According to Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Adela S. Damaso , around 1,650 farmer-beneficiaries from the provinces Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Mt. Province, and Kalinga are set to received their E - Titles and CLOAs.

The representatives from the six provinces of CAR, different LGUs, Department of Agrarian Reform, and other national line agencies are expected to attend.

E-titles and CLOAs to be issued to the recipients will provide them with actual security in investing and developing their land, as well as financial services such as loan and subsidy.

To recall, last year, DAR has already issued CLOAs to  714 farmers in Kalinga who were  fully compliant with the requirements for the grant of land titles.

Under Republic Act No. 6657, also known as the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law of 1988, the beneficiaries were identified as 'landless' farmers and regular farm-workers in the province.
