Abra documentary film qualified for Sabah Pitching Training and Awards 2023

Abra, Philippines – Another film in Abra is set to be presented in an international platform this coming Sept. 30 to Oct. 01, 2023.

‘Killing Fields to My Happy Place’, a feature-length documentary by Dexter Galban Macaraeg will be gracing the Sabah Pitching Training and Awards 2023 of the Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival(KKIFF) on said dates.

Sabah Pitching Training sets a platform for filmmakers in the ASEAN region, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong to pitch their films before a jury. They can also present directly to potential financiers, look for co-producers, and raise the ‘visibility and market viability’ of their documentary projects.

Killing Fields to My Happy Place is among the 10 selected projects from Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Philippines. They are shortlisted by the KKIFF, Borneo's longest-running film festival.

Macaraeg, Sine Abreño founder and festival director of Abrenian Heritage Film Festival will be presenting said film in the pitching training.

Another short film written and directed by Macaraeg, meantime, made it to the 2023 International Film Festival Manhattan(IFFM). The short movie entitled ‘Protected Hill’ will be showcased during the IFFM international screenings next month.
