Additional military force deployed in Tineg, Abra


Abra, Philippines – To help end the internal threat in Tineg, Abra, additional military force has been deployed in the municipality on November 27, 2022.


The 102nd Infantry ‘Manso’ Battalion reported that they welcomed 24 new soldiers in their unit on Sunday. These new members of the Philippine Army have recently finished their Candidate Soldier Course.

To officially receive them in the unit, they were subjected to the traditional Reception Rites of the Philippine Army which is being done to strengthen further the soldiers’ cooperation and camaraderie as they enter the battalion they got deployed in.


In his message, Lieutenant Colonel Lumuel Baduya, 102nd Infantry Battallion Commanding Officer, expressed that each of these newly deployed government troops is a huge contribution to the campaign of ending the internal threat in the municipality.


“Makasaysayaan ang pagtanggap sa mga bagong sundalo sa Bayan ng Abra, mahalaga ang karanasan at kakayahan ng bawat isa, na makapag ambag upang tuluyan ng tapusin ang internal threat sa nasabing bayan,” he expressed.

Municipal Legal Officer Cornelius Dannang likewise conveyed the Tineg Local Government Unit’s profound gratitude to the members of the Philippine Army for their sacrifices and their efforts in keeping the municipality safe and in ensuring that relief goods reach far-flung areas in times of calamities.


Earlier this year, the government troops had a 5-minute firefight with members of the Kilusang Larangang Guerilla (KLG)-North Abra in Barangay Anayan, Tineg. The military likewise recovered war materials, firearms, medical paraphernalia, and personal belongings of the same group at the said barangay in another operation in June this year.
