Agbannawag Central School wins 4th Bodong Festival’s Drum and Lyre Competition

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Joining this year’s Drum and Lyre Competition, Agbannawag Central School surpassed the performance of three other schools, making them win the top prize for the elementary category of said event on February 14, 2023.


Said competition is one of the activities of the 28th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 4th Bodong Festival.

As the champions, the school received P50,000 cash prize from the provincial local government unit of Kalinga.


Bulanao Central School came in second getting P40,000 while Tabuk City Central School which ranked third received P35,000.


Southern Tabuk Integraded School was also given a cash prize of P30,000 for participating in the event.


Meantime, in the secondary category, Balbalan’s Saint Theresita’s School were able to defend their title in 2019 and was hailed as the back-to-back champion.


Like Agbannawag, the school also received P50,000 cash prize.

In a statement, Barangay Captain Zarex Guisob extended his felicitation to the performers from Agbannawag Central School and thanked them for bringing pride to the barangay.


“Congratulations kadakayo amin ta intal-o yu manen iti barangay tayo iti panangabak yu dituy nga pasalip. Congratulations met kadagituy mimistra yu, coaches ken amin nga timmulong tapnu maragpat yu dayta naragpat yu tatta. Asahan yu nga agtultuloy ti suporta ti barangay kadakayo,” Guisob said.
