Aguinaldo, Ifugao holds municipal prayer day for spiritual wellness

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – The people of Aguinaldo in Ifugao united on Thursday, Jan. 12, for the Municipal Prayer Day aimed at strengthening their religious and moral values.

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 2020-01 adopted from National Bible Month, the town conducts such spiritual activity every second Thursday of January to celebrate their blessings and acknowledge their dependence on God.

In addition to the usual event, the communities this year had their prayer walk at the accident-prone areas identified by the village officials before they gathered for the municipal-wide prayer at the Municipal Gymnasium in Galonogon.

All ministers regardless of denominations were invited to join the community prayer where wisdom and unity among national and local officials and the effectiveness of the delivery of government services among municipal officials, employees, and non-government agencies were lifted to the Almighty.

Other prayers such as healing, peace and order within the town were likewise sought.

In his words of encouragement, Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr. acknowledged the imperfection of officials, thus their need for continued prayers. Also, he asked the public to support the church leaders in turn.

Further, he prayed for the protection and safety of all children of Aguinaldo, including those studying outside the town.

“…and importantly, that they may not be influenced to the use of illegal drugs and other wrongdoings,” added the mayor.

The families in the community which in turn affect the municipality, province, and the country, can attract more blessings with abundance if they focus on righteous deeds and worship, Chilagan concluded.
