Writer: Aguinaldo LGUAguinaldo LGU

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – The construction of a potable water system in the municipality of Aguinaldo Ifugao is among the proposed enterprise and infrastructure development subprojects chosen by the Cordillera Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) endorsed for funding under the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).

The project is worth P17.939 million, according to a press release by the department.

In the proposal presented by Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr during the meeting with the RPAB team last week., the location of the potable water system will be in four barangays which include Talite, Ta-ang, Bunhian and Galonogon.

The technical aspects and the feasibility of the proposal include the importance of having a potable water system in the four barangays. With it, constituents will no longer have to worry about unclean drinking water.

Following the presentation, the Regional Project Coordination Office-CAR (RPCO-CAR) provided a brief assessment of the proposed subproject’s compliances to DA-PRDP requirements with the RPAB focusing on the mitigating measures to protect and conserve the watershed.

The proposed project, as explained by the department, ‘was re-endorsed due to the necessary variations that were found during the subproject appraisal, which led to the increase in the project cost.’

The RBAP team added in their endorsement the Improvement of Pula-Cawayan-Camadag Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) with Bridge worth PhP186.993 million (re-endorsed) located in Asipulo, Ifugao.

Aside from the proposed project by Aguinaldo municipality, other projects endorsed for funding include the P8.025 million Highland Vegetables Hauling and Delivery Services. The request was made by the Apanberang Farmers Association in Kabayan, Benguet. Another was for the Construction of Central Mayoyao Level II Potable Water System (PWS) worth P95.089 million.

What is RPAB?
