Aguinaldo keeps “ub-ubpfu” spirit alive in beautification programs

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – The spirit of the longstanding Filipino value called “bayanihan” or communal unity lives on and has been demonstrated in many forms.

Even with the onslaught of the health crisis and calamities, working together towards a shared cause was in full swing.

The Filipino trait remains intact for the people of Aguinaldo, Ifugao who have been showcasing volunteerism efforts and the power of a community working together through “ub-ubpfu,” local term for “bayanihan.”

On August 25, the local government unit under the leadership of Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr. launched “Ub-ubpfu ad Aguinaldo” to restore and repaint the kids playground in front of the municipal hall in Galonogon village.

The event was participated by Aguinaldoans of all ages, including the community members, government employees, personnel of the national line agencies like those from Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection, and youth who had fun cleaning, painting and decorating the playground.

To continue beautifying the municipal compound, municipal government through its Tourism Office informed “Ub-ubpfu ad Aguinaldo” Season 2 will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023.

The activity, said the office, is in line with the month-long 123rd Civil Service anniversary celebration.

“Join us as we continue our mission to beautify a portion of our municipal ground,” invites Aguinaldo Tourism Information Office.
