Aguinaldo LGU provides audiovisual teaching aids to public schools


Aguinaldo, Ifugao – To increase students’ motivation and classroom engagement as well as upgrade learning quality, the local government of Aguinaldo in Ifugao province led by Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr. provided audiovisual teaching aids to public schools in town.


32 light-emitting diode (LED) televisions, one printer, and one laptop were turned over by the government unit to school heads through Public Schools District Supervisor Evangeline Dulnuan on February 10 in a ceremony held at the Municipal Gymnasium in Galonogon.

Mayor Chilagan Jr., in his talk, underscored the benefits of having television as a supportive and reinforcement tool in a classroom. The technology, he said, gives access to interactive lessons, attracting the students’ attention.


Likewise, the head of the Local School Board stressed that while televisions are beneficial, it is up to the teachers to make learning meaningful. He further proposed the construction of a high school in Galonogon.

On her part, Dulnuan reminded the school heads and teachers to make use of the gadgets as intended, to improve their teaching quality.


The municipal government has been supportive with the school programs to improve the quality of education and help the youth land in brighter future.


Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Soraya T. Faculo, Municipal Councilors Jun Lamag Jr., Melchor Bimmang, Jose Halipan, Chamson Chang-goy, and Sharon Dapuyen were with the mayor and SDS during the turn-over ceremony.
