Ambuklao youth shows off swimming skills in Tilapia Festival

Bokod, Benguet – Marking this year’s ‘Tilapia Festival’ in Ambuklao, Bokod, young people in the village showcased their swimming skills on March 12.

Tilapia Festival is being celebrated in Ambuklao alongside its Founding Anniversary to recognize fishermen’s contribution in sustaining the production of tilapia in the area, making the barangay the leading producer of said fish and carp in Benguet and neighboring provinces.

What made the festival extra special this 2023 is the launching of the swimming competition.

In his interview with Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation, Brian Dalislis, a barangay official relayed they included the swimming contest as part of their activities this year to provide an avenue for the youth to hone their swimming skills.

Other activities during the 2023 Tilapia Festival include singing and dancing competitions, Search for Super Lolo and Lola, horse racing, boat racing, and traditional tilapia cooking contest.
